Engineers assemble HS2 TBM 'Lydia' at Atlas Road, London

Two engineers from HS2's contractor, Skanska Costain STRABAG JV assemble the 847 tonnes tunnel boring machine (TBM). Parts of the TBM were previously used on London's Crossrail project and have been refurbished for HS2. The logistics tunnel will support the construction of the HS2 twin-bored running tunnel - the Euston tunnel - between Old Oak Common and Euston station.
