21 May 2025- Ballast from decommissioned railway sidings in West London donated to heritage railway
- Sidings were used to bring in materials by rail to HS2’s West Ruislip site
- The donation coincides with the celebration of 200 years of the railway in Britain

- Tunnel boring machine, Mary Ann, travelled under the region’s motorway network, watercourses and key National Grid infrastructure without disruption
- Specialist tunnelling teams spent 652 days and nights working underground to complete the mission
