Assembly of HS2 TBM 'Lydia' at Atlas Road, London - TBM in situ

The 847 tonnes tunnel boring machine (TBM), named 'Lydia', is being assembled ready to launch towards the Old Oak Common station site. Parts of the TBM were previously used on London's Crossrail project and have been refurbished for HS2. The logistics tunnel will support the construction of the HS2 twin-bored running tunnel - the Euston tunnel - between Old Oak Common and Euston station.
