Construction starts on the Colne Valley Viaduct with the launch of a giant bridge building machine-11

Construction has started on the Colne Valley Viaduct as a 160m long bridge building machine begins construction. It will install 1,000 individual segments – each one unique and ranging from 60 to 140 tonnes. All will be 4m wide, up to 4m long and up to 6.7m high.
