Map highlighting the how HS2 relieves network capacity

Released capacity works by moving long-distance traffic from our current rail network onto HS2’s new high-speed line, creating the extra room needed to improve local, regional and freight services. When complete, HS2 will add greater capacity along the UK’s current main North-South rail routes; West Coast, East Coast and Midland main lines.
