As the first UK company to achieve and retain The Clear Assured Platinum Standard for exceptional commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), independent assessors have already hailed HS2 Ltd a leader for workplace inclusion.
To retain such high standards, HS2 Ltd must continue to adapt its approach to EDI. From today, the company will introduce new steps to remove all personal details at the first stage the recruitment process. This means candidates’ names, age, gender, ethnicity and any personal images will be redacted from CVs before being presented to the hiring manager for review. Personal details will now only be disclosed to hiring managers if candidates are invited to attend for interview.
Elena Argirova, Senior Resourcing Manager at HS2 Ltd said:
“This change in working practice gives candidates complete confidence that at HS2 Ltd, recruitment and selection is based purely on talent and nothing else.
“We’re proud of the inclusive workplace culture we’ve worked so hard to create, and hope this sends a clear message to prospective candidates that equality matters at HS2.”
To support candidates when applying for jobs, HS2 Ltd has today released a series of short videos to help applicants understand how to showcase their skills and experience, both in their CV, and during the interview process. With a combined total of 50 graduate and apprenticeship vacancies currently on offer, HS2 Ltd hopes these new resources will help those starting out in their career.
HS2 Ltd is introducing these changes today in celebration of Race Equality Week.
