Birmingham Ladywood MP, Shabana Mahmood, has visited HS2’s Curzon Street Station site to see for herself how Eastside is being transformed in readiness for the arrival of HS2 and the city’s brand-new intercity terminus station.

• A disused bridge near Saltley in Birmingham has been safely demolished by HS2’s main works civils contractor Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV)
• Over 685m3 of concrete, 165 tonnes of reinforcement and 250 tonnes of structural steel were removed by precision techniques over four weekends

• Extensive new landscape and wildlife areas inspired by local heritage will be created around two new HS2 viaducts over the River Cole in Warwickshire.
