Ealing Council’s leaders hear how local residents are benefitting from HS2
25 May 2023Ealing Council Leader, Cllr Peter Mason and Cllr Bassam Mahfouz, Lead Member for Decent Living Incomes, visited the Old Oak Common site where HS2 is building its new superhub station to see how the construction programme is supporting local residents into training and employment.

HS2 welcomes planning approval for the bridge set to light up the Birmingham skyline
24 May 2023- HS2 has been granted Schedule 17 consent by Birmingham City Council for a 150-metre-long superstructure which will carry high speed trains into the city’s new Curzon Street Station.
- The iconic curved truss bridge will include a vibrant public light artwork as a striking addition to the city’s skyline.

New figures show £13.4m awarded to community projects through HS2 fund since 2017
24 May 2023- 236 local projects have benefitted from a share of £13.4m from HS2’s community fund in the last six years.
- Figures revealed in Groundwork UK’s latest annual report show that over £2m given to 39 projects in the last 12 months.
- In the 12 months since April 2022, six projects in Warwickshire have shared £322,211 in funding.

24 May 2023- 236 local projects have benefitted from a share of £13.4m from HS2’s community fund in the last six years.
- Figures revealed in Groundwork UK’s latest annual report show that over £2m given to 39 projects in the last 12 months.
- In the 12 months since April 2022, seven projects across the West Midlands area have shared £444,131 in funding.
