HS2 completes 320m-long Westbury viaduct
01 Oct 2026- Download new photos and drone footage showing the completed Westbury viaduct - the longest HS2 viaduct in the Brackley area.
- The 320m structure uses an innovative ‘double composite’ structure which allows a more efficient use of concrete and steel than a traditional approach, helping to cut carbon in construction.

Level boarding confirmed for Elizabeth line services at HS2’s Old Oak Common superhub station
29 Sep 2026- Passengers using Elizabeth line services at Old Oak Common will benefit from a fully step free journey from street level to train
- This will support independent travel by removing the need for boarding ramps or staff assistance for many passengers
- Collaboration between HS2, Network Rail, Transport for London and the Department for Transport has enabled agreement on a more accessible design
