HS2 is proud to be making a difference by commissioning the Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) to make temporary signage for its construction sites across an 80km section of the new railway between the North Chilterns and South Warwickshire.  

• First of approximately 1,800 freight trains arrives at HS2’s new Quainton railhead, near Aylesbury, in a move designed to save carbon in construction

Thirty three youngsters from the West Midlands will take their first steps into the world of work this week as they begin their T-Level industry placements on HS2.

HS2’s construction partner, Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV), has been awarded the Clear Assured Gold standard accreditation for its commitment to embedding inclusive best practice into all elements of its work.

• ‘Open Doors 2023’ will give young people the chance to go behind site hoardings on busy construction sites and learn about career opportunities across the industry
• Next year’s programme, taking place 13–18 March 2023, was launched at HS2’s Long Itchington Wood Tunnel site, attended by young people from Walsall College and Warwickshire College
• HS2 Ltd has partnered with Build UK, which delivers Open Doors Week each year

A partnership between HS2’s West Midlands construction partner, Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV), and Walsall Works is helping unemployed Walsall residents to access training, develop new skills and start building a career on HS2.
