HS2 has today (15^th October) signed up to The Tomorrow’s Engineers Code of Practice, which is designed to make engineering careers accessible for this and the next generation of young people.

HS2, Britain’s new high speed railway, has today (Wednesday 14 October) announced that 412 new apprenticeship opportunities have been created on the landmark project. The latest figures come just a month after main construction works on the Birmingham – London phase of the project officially started, spearheading the creation of 22,000 jobs.

Today (Friday 9 October) the contract for the first two giant tunnelling machines for London’s HS2 tunnels has been signed with HS2's Main Works Civils Contractor, Skanska Costain STRABAG JV (SCS JV),  marking significant progress on the southern stretch of HS2.

• HS2 will cut emissions, improving air quality and supporting a net-zero carbon economy
• Emissions are being ‘designed out’ of HS2 stations and depots
