Ruislip Lido Railway turns green thanks to HS2 funding
04 Aug 2023- Ruislip Lido Railway Society Ltd will use a £75,000 grant from HS2’s Community & Environment Fund (CEF) to convert diesel locomotive 'Graham Alexander' to low-carbon battery power, removing its reliance on diesel.
- The new diesel-free alternative will improve local air quality and reduce noise pollution on the UK’s longest 12-gauge railway line.

HS2 partners with Heart of Birmingham Vocational College and local creative organisations to engage young learners in design
03 Aug 2023- HS2 partnered with Birmingham-based Craftspace and Dual Works to deliver creative workshops at the Heart of Birmingham Vocational College in Washwood Heath.
- The ’Washwood Heath Creates’ project included outdoor creative design sessions in the College’s garden and a site visit for local students.
