HS2 partners with Build UK to open its construction sites to young people
11 Jan 2023- HS2 is hosting over 20 events on some of its busiest construction sites as part of Build UK’s ‘Open Doors 2023’ programme.
- The site visits give young people and career changers an opportunity to see behind the hoardings and consider a career in construction.

HS2 completes World-First box ‘bridge slide’ over the M42 in Warwickshire
29 Dec 2022- In a huge feat of engineering, HS2 Ltd has delivered the world’s longest box slide to move a 12,600 tonne bridge into place over the M42 in Warwickshire.
- The innovative method dramatically cuts disruption to road users and is part of HS2’s plan to reduce the impact of construction on local communities.
- 450 people worked on the operation during the Christmas week – the quietest time on the roads.
