By winning work with HS2, manufacturing and technology company Biosite Systems based in Solihull, West Midlands, has boosted its workforce, made investment in facilities and secured a pipeline of future work.

- Designed and manufactured by British company AJC Trailers Ltd, and supplied by National Hire Company GAP Group, the new solar and hydrogen powered cabins are being rolled out across HS2 construction sites, already cutting over 100 tonnes of carbon
- To welcome the innovation, HS2 Minister Andrew Stephenson visited an HS2 site in West Ruislip to see the cabins in use

As part of its ambition to build the most sustainable high speed railway in the world, HS2 contractors in London have begun using a new low carbon concrete product which provides a reduction of 42% in CO2 in comparison to a standard concrete.

HS2 has passed another major milestone at the high speed rail project’s first tunnel site, with the completion of structural work on the temporary pre-cast factory which will produce wall sections for the 10 mile long Chiltern tunnels.
