HS2 marks major construction milestone at Long Itchington Wood Tunnel
25 Feb 2025- HS2 has unveiled the first twin-bore tunnel on the project to be completed at Long Itchington Wood in Warwickshire.
- The development sees the completion of features such as cross passages, base slabs and walkways – ahead of the internal fit-out of railway systems which will allow high-speed trains to operate.

HS2 contractor to recruit 20 further apprentices
13 Feb 2025- Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV), HS2’s construction partner for the West Midlands, plans to recruit 20 new apprentices to work on the HS2 project
- The new trainees will form part of 2,000 apprenticeships due to be created by HS2 Ltd and its supply chain throughout the project’s lifecycle
