HS2 successfully completes major river realignment project in Warwickshire
14 Aug 2025- HS2 has completed a 749-metre realignment of the River Cole in Warwickshire – the most significant scheme of its kind on the project
- The ‘re-naturalising’ design increases the river’s meandering nature to enhance biodiversity, reduce carbon and ensure climate resilience of the new railway
- New public green spaces and paths alongside the river will improve community access

Giant HS2 bridge ready to be moved into place in central Birmingham
08 Aug 2025- A steel bridge weighing 1,631 tonnes is ready to be moved into place over Lawley Middleway in Birmingham
- The 112m long structure will be moved during night-time operations
- The section will form part of the one mile stretch of five connected viaducts bringing high-speed trains into Curzon Street Station

Breakthrough! HS2 completes excavation of huge 8.4 mile tunnel under the capital
27 Jun 2025- Excavation of the second longest tunnel on HS2 route between London and the West Midlands has been completed
- The tunnel was built using four machines, with the final one taking 14 months to complete its drive
- Work will soon move to the next stage of tunnel construction including the flat tunnel base where high speed tracks will be laid
