- 172 projects on Phase One between the West Midlands and London have benefitted from the funds 

• A team of volunteers from Balfour Beatty VINCI, working with HS2 and their supply chain, has given a new lease of life to a dilapidated play area at a school in Solihull.
• The new open space play area and sensory garden are now being enjoyed by pupils as they return to school.

A teenage rail fan has today [Tuesday, 14^th September] been given the honour of naming a Class 66 locomotive that will transport HS2 construction materials by rail to help reduce carbon emissions.

• 30-acre site near Willesden Junction will be at centre of the logistics operation for HS2 in London and where earth from the 26 miles of London tunnelling will be processed
