HS2 Ltd has today (29 June) announced the availability of six funds to support communities impacted by the construction of the next phase of Britain’s new high speed rail network from the West Midlands to Crewe.

HS2 has obtained approval for an ambitious scheme which will use material excavated from the Chiltern tunnels to create 127 hectares of new chalk grassland, woodland, wood pasture and wetland habitats around the tunnel’s south portal.

HS2 today opened a new relief road around the village of Chipping Warden in Northamptonshire, allowing construction vehicles – and other through traffic – to avoid the centre of the village and the local primary school.
